skating.....

yesterday ryan and i were super exhausted from the day before...but ashlyn was a champ and ready to take on the world...so we compromised with skating...of course, after realizing her cheapy plastic skates were too small, we had to make a run to the store to buy her her first pair of real skates....

she started off not too sure of herself...of course wanting to hold either ryan's hand or mine the whole time...finally we got to a smooth spot and decided she needed to give it a go on her own....
and she's off....she kept looking up at ryan and me saying "remember...slow and steady wins the race" as she moved at a snail's pace....lol

she built up a little confidence by the end of it all......

we had a small wipeout on the way back....darn bumpy sidewalk...ryan had to flip the "bumpy sidewalk" switch on her skates....
by the end of it all she thought she was too cool for school...even skating on one leg..with mom and dad's help of course....
