burger island anyone!!!???

when i saw the sign going up for burger island i was less than thrilled...i just rolled my eyes and said "ugh, how cheesy...just what our town needs...a crappy burger joint...who wants to go eat at a place called burger island"....well, obviously i do....ryan came home a few days ago saying his buddies were raving about the place...less than thrilled we went up there yesterday to give it a try...now when i walked in i have to admit i pretty much assumed i was right about the place...as soon as we opened the door i was knocked over by the smell of the grill going...wow...ventilation much...then there are like random booths scattered through the middle of the place which kind of made me cringe...but eh...what the hey...we sat down...looked over the menu and placed our order...ryan got the jungle burger...ashlyn...the chicken strips...and me...well, i got the jungle chicken sandwich....omg...when our order came to the table my eyes nearly popped out of my head....they were HUGE....huge....huge...well, at least to ryan and i thought they were...ashlyn's chicken strip basket could have easily been an adult meal...our burger/chicken sandwich pretty much had everything on it...kind of like a heart attack on a plate....but it was soooo good....mmmmmm...heart attack on a plate....we had also ordered a side of onion rings....omg...loved those too...and the fries reminded me of wing stop fries (which i love) without the sweetness....i was so full it was ridiculous...mind you i thought it was a tad on the expensive side (not anymore expensive than fuddruckers or any other burger type restaurant) but my gawd...ryan and i could have split a burger and onion rings and nibbled on ashlyn's leftovers if we were still hungry...all in all, i'm glad we ended up giving it a try...though next time i might get my heart attack to go...i ended up smelling like i had worked an 8 hour shift behind the grill....
