our anniversary....

can you believe it's been 5 years...both ryan and i said it feels like 90....lol....we've both definitely broken the record of our previous attempts...ha...anyway...ryan decided to take yesterday off so we could spend the day together...we took ashlyn to school in the morning which was nice because she rarely gets to have daddy drop her off...then we headed back to la casa and hung out for a bit...ryan decided he wanted to take me out for indian food since i've never had it...it ended up being a great choice...my gawd it was good...i'm telling you...i don't know what they do to that cauliflower or those carrots but man, i'm ready to eat some more...we had a nice lunch...just the two of us (which is something we also rarely get to do)...it was nice to have a conversation without constantly being interrupted...it's nice to connect...then we decided we would spend our anniversary money (thanks grandma and grandpa) and head out to the fair...(yes, oh so romantic i know...but it fits us better than the whole romance thing)...we picked ashlyn up from school and made our way out to the state fair of texas...we had a blast...let's see...we saw our favorite...the car show...and we did little hands on the farm with ashlyn...we saw the dancing dogs...we checked out the children's animal section...we went to the food and fiber building for free ice cream and cheap drinks...we got ashlyn's face painted...rode some rides...ate some really good cuban food...watched the pig races...checked out the sandcastles and let ashlyn play in the sand...watched the light show and then rode some more rides before we finally headed home...we were all wiped out by the end of the day...i'll have to post pictures sometime though i only got a few...i was too busy living in the moment to get too many...anyway it was a great day and a great time had by all...

on a side note...can i tell you how wonderful my husband is....???!!! i know...total cheese....but whatever...he is...he's such a great guy...even tempered (i think he has to be to put up with me...lol)...responsible...patient...(another necessity when dealing with me...lol)....awesome dad...sometimes i don't think he gets enough credit...i guess it's kind of easy to look over someone who does so much right (for the most part...everyone has their little quirks)...i try to make sure i tell him how much i appreciate him...i want him to know how much he means to me and to ashlyn...he's just the all around good guy...and i love him for it....

okay enough with the mushy stuff...(i think that's as mushy as i'm capable of)...

here's to another 60 years together...when we'll be wrinkly, old and still in love...lol
