merry belated christmas (though technically i said it earlier in the month)...

hey everyone...hope you had a wonderful christmas!!!

we had a great day...the grandparents came over on christmas eve and stayed the night...ashlyn went to bed super early that night so we got a chance to put out her santa presents early...this year santa brought her the mlp amusement park, a stick unicorn, a scooter and a guitar....mom and dad brought her way too much! lol....we all stayed up and watched chronicles of narnia and then it was off to bed...ryan and i got up at a ridiculous time in the AM...ryan...because he had to start on his delish homemade cinnamon rolls...me...well, because i was too excited to sleep...i wanted to be up and moving before ashlyn even got stirring...an hour and a half later ashlyn decided to grace us with her presence...since we leave santa presents out and unwrapped she got to enjoy her toys while daddy finished up the rolls and we waited for the grandparents to get up...after they were up we opened up presents...ryan and i waited while ashlyn opened hers...lol...there were a few that she was surprised with...she would say "oh..i didn't say i wanted this but i'm really glad i got it"...then she opened up the martian matter and said "um, guys, I really didn't want this...daddy can have it"...nice....way to be appreciative there wee one...(of course about an hour later when ryan got it out of the box she wanted to play with it and then proceeded to make martians for over an hour)....we played a few games of blokus which was actually pretty fun for all of us...and ryan and i trash talked each other the entire time (i swear our kid is going to be the worst winner ever...she's already a sore loser...like her mama used to be)...ryan opened up his presents...some new shirts from me (i swear he hasn't had new clothes in years...poor thing)...the big bang theory season 1...a few movies and a few little odds and ends....my grandparents got him a new jacket and then got the both of us a new set of pots and pans...ryan did a great job keeping me from nosing in on my present...so i really didn't have much of a clue as to what i was getting this year...i ended up with a cool digital frame that can wirelessly stream pictures from my flickr and facebook accounts...my grandparents hung out for awhile and then headed out and our little fam just sat back and enjoyed the entire day just us...we played and played and ate and played...we took the new scooter for a test drive...and played at the park...and then it was over...ashlyn went to bed and ryan and i curled up on the couch and laughed our asses off watching the big bang theory...it was the perfect end to a pretty perfect day....hopefully, at some point, i'll stop being lazy and will post some pictures....
